    Scam Alert

Bank of Fall River is committed to protecting your financial/personal information.  Every year thousands of consumers lose money through fraudulent scams.  If it sounds too good to be true- then it is.  Scammers don’t care about your age, race, income or geographic location they just want your money.

Don’t be fooled by these scams:

                 LOTTERY SCAM

If you play a foreign lottery, through the mail or by telephone, you’re in violation of federal law. Legitimate sweepstakes don’t require you to pay or buy something to enter.

                 FAKE CHECK SCAM

There is no legitimate reason for someone who is giving you money to ask you to wire money back. You are responsible for any check you deposit, if you’re unsure of the legitimacy of the check, ask us.

                   TELEPHONE/TELEMARKETING SCAM

Never give out your credit/debit card number, account number, or social security number to any caller Caller ID can be deceiving – although the name looks familiar, the call can be coming from anywhere in the world.
